# Telegram API

The Telegram API lets you read message details, account profiles and an account's messages, with no Telegram account or login. Each call costs 2 credits ($0.004 to $0.0067); failed calls are free. Telegram does not give the author's follower count with a post, so that field is returned as null. Use it over HTTP with an API key, or through MCP from your AI client. Last tested 2026-10-17.

## Official API

Telegram's API is open to all developers: anyone with a Telegram account can obtain an API ID at my.telegram.org. It is a full client API that covers channels (which can be public) and message search, and use is subject to Telegram's API Terms of Service.
