# TikTok API

The TikTok API lets you search videos and read video details, comments, account profiles and an account's videos, with no TikTok account or login. Each call costs 2 credits ($0.004 to $0.0067); failed calls are free. Use it over HTTP with an API key, or through MCP from your AI client. Last tested 2026-10-17.

## Official API

TikTok's API for reading public content at scale is the Research API, open only to approved academic and not-for-profit researchers in eligible regions, for non-commercial research. Its Display API reads only the profile and public videos of users who log in and authorise the app.
