Data freshness, compliance and account safety
A new call reads the platform when you make it, and the answer says when. SocialToAI returns what is publicly visible on the platform, with commenters anonymised, and uses no account of yours. How you use the data has to follow the law that applies to you and the platform's terms.
The questions, answered
How fresh is the data?
A new call reads the platform when you make it, and fetched_at in the answer says when. The cases that give you an earlier read are in the table below, and they cost 0 credits.
| What you do | What you get | Credits |
|---|---|---|
| A new call | A read made now; fetched_at says when | The call's credits |
The same request again within 5 minutes of a charged answer, without an Idempotency-Key | That answer, marked replayed: true | 0 |
The same Idempotency-Key within 24 hours | The earlier answer, marked replayed: true | 0 |
Reading a result by its handle or request_id within 24 hours | The answer that request got, as it was stored | 0 |
| Opening a daily trending page | A board read once a day; the page shows when | Free |
There is no store of platform content here to answer from: a result is kept only so that you can read your own request again. A platform's own counts can lag, and the source we read through may reuse a very recent read, so fetched_at says when this answer was read, not that nothing has changed since.
“Last tested” on an interface's page is the day that interface last passed a test, not how old its data is.
Is reading social media this way compliant?
We return content and account information publicly visible on the platform, with commenters anonymised. Whether your use of it is compliant depends on what you do with it and where, so that part is yours to check.
- Each platform has its own rules for commercial use, and they change. Official API prices and limits lists the platform pages we read and when.
- Republishing, training models and handling personal information found in the data each have their own rules. Follow the law that applies to you and the platform's terms.
- The terms say the same. This page is not legal advice; ask your legal adviser if you are unsure.
Can my account get into trouble?
No account of yours is needed, and your accounts stay out of it: you never sign in to a platform, hand over a cookie or install anything, so nothing is read in your account's name.
This is about your accounts. It does not settle what a platform's terms say about how you use the data; see the question above.
How does a team use it?
There are no team seats: one account signs in with one email. Create a key for each person or program, up to 10 keys and AI-client connections together, each with its own permissions, expiry date and daily limit.
A daily limit on the account stops every key at once, and max_cost_credits caps a single call before it runs.
