Why not the platform's own API
Douyin's open platform provides video data for users who authorise the app: the video list endpoint needs the user's authorisation and a permission applied for in the developer console. No endpoint for reading any public video or profile is documented.

What to know first
- Commenters are always anonymous. Quotes keep the words, never who wrote them.
- What the platform does not show cannot be read. Comments that are hidden, deleted or folded by the platform are out of reach.
- Shares are of the comments read, not of all viewers, and many comments on a sales video can read alike. Read the quotes before you trust a number.
