Let Claude Code and Cursor read Xiaohongshu and Douyin, with no QR code or cookie
Servers you run yourself read Xiaohongshu and Douyin through an account you sign in, by QR code or cookie, and stop when that session ends. SocialToAI is hosted: one command in Claude Code, a few lines in Cursor, then sign in with your email. No QR code, no cookie, nothing to keep running. It uses no account of yours, so it cannot affect your account. From 12 credits a call; failed calls are free.
What the platforms' own APIs give
Xiaohongshu's open platform currently offers login only: after the app passes review, it can read the basic profile (nickname, avatar) of users who authorise it. No API for reading public notes or comments is documented.

Douyin's open platform provides video data for users who authorise the app: the video list endpoint needs the user's authorisation and a permission applied for in the developer console. No endpoint for reading any public video or profile is documented.

A server you run yourself, or a hosted one
A server on your own machine is free software and it can see what your account sees. Its price is paid in other ways, and it helps to know them before you sign in.

Claude Code

- Start Claude Code, type /mcp, pick socialtoai and choose Authenticate.
- Your browser opens: sign in to SocialToAI with the code we email you and press Allow. Then ask.

Cursor

No. You never sign in to Xiaohongshu or Douyin. You sign in to SocialToAI with a code sent to your email.

It uses no account of yours, so it cannot affect your account.
Can it post or reply for me?
No. Every call is read-only, and it reads publicly visible content only.
Does it work on a server, with no browser to sign in?
Send a key in a header instead, as the notes above say. The key lives in an environment variable, not in the file.
