Reddit RSS stops on November 13: how to keep reading your subreddits
Reddit stops supporting RSS feeds on 2026-11-13, and says there is no replacement outside communities you moderate. To keep a subreddit in your feed reader, make a daily watch of it and paste the watch's private RSS address in place of the .rss one. A run is 2 credits, 62 a month; the sign-up credits cover about 50 days. It updates daily or weekly, not in real time.
Every morning, read the newest posts of r/nasa and give me the watch's RSS address.
What stops, and when
Reddit says it will “stop supporting RSS feeds on November 13, 2026”, because RSS has become a common surface for large-scale scraping and automated abuse. Its post lists no exceptions, so plan for every .rss address to stop: a subreddit, a search, a user, a post's comments. First, Reddit's own routes
If one of these fits you, take it: it is the route Reddit supports.
- You moderate the community. Reddit recommends the Discord Relay app for alerts in Discord or Slack. Its setup guide says to allow 15 to 20 minutes and no coding.
- You run an app or bot. Register it before 2027-01-12 and move it to the Developer Platform with Reddit's migration guide. Reddit's $1M App Migration Program pays $1,000 to eligible apps that migrate; apply by 2026-11-30.
- You use Reddit data commercially. Reddit's Data API Terms require a separate agreement with Reddit.
- You just follow subreddits in a feed reader. Reddit's post says that for feeds outside a community you moderate, “there is no replacement”. The rest of this page is for you.
Use a watch's private RSS in place of the .rss address
A watch reads the subreddit on a schedule and keeps a private feed of the posts it had not seen, as RSS 2.0 and JSON Feed. Your reader only needs the new address. You need a SocialToAI account, but no Reddit account, app or API key: it uses no account of yours, so it cannot affect your account.
- Sign in and open the Playground on this call: 100 credits free on sign-up, no card.
- Fill in
idwith the subreddit's name, without the r/ (nasa), setsorttolatest, and run it once (2 credits). - Press “Make it recurring”, choose daily or weekly and a time, and save.
- On the Tasks page press “Copy RSS” and paste the address into your reader, in place of the old one.
Or say it to your AI once it is connected over MCP: it previews what will run and what it costs, and makes the watch only after you agree. Each subreddit is one watch. The first run only notes what is there already; from the next run on, the feed carries what is new.

| Reddit's .rss, until it stops | A watch's feed | |
|---|---|---|
| Address | /r/nasa/new/.rss | /v1/feeds/wf_….xml |
| How fresh | Whenever your reader asks | Daily or weekly, at the time you choose. Not real time. |
| What you get | The newest posts | Only posts not seen before, from one page of up to 25 a run; the feed lists the last 20 runs that found something, at most 100 items |
| Each item | Title, link, author and date | Title, link, date and the start of the text for 24 hours after the run, then link and date. A reader that refreshes daily keeps the title. No author |
| Who can read it | Anyone | Anyone with the address, so keep it private. You can change it or switch it off |
| Cost | Free | 2 credits a run. Reading the feed is free, and failed runs cost nothing |
What a month costs
One run is 2 credits. A daily watch runs at most 31 times a month, so 62 credits ($0.21 at the first pack). The 100 credits you get on sign-up cover 50 runs, about 50 days of one daily watch. A free account can hold 1 watch; one that has bought credits, 20. When the free credits run out the watch pauses and charges nothing, and any purchase starts it again.
| Subreddits | Runs | Credits a month | At the first pack |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Weekly | 10 | $0.033 |
| 1 | Daily | 62 | $0.21 |
| 5 | Daily | 310 | $1.03 |
| 20 | Daily | 1,240 | $4.13 |
The first pack is 3,000 credits for $10; credits never expire, and there is no subscription.
What to know first
- It is not real time. A watch runs daily or weekly. On a subreddit that posts more than 25 times between runs, the older ones of that stretch are not read.
- It reads posts, not comments. A
.rssfeed of a post's comments maps to a different call, below. - Commercial use stays subject to Reddit's own terms. This page does not change them.
- Reddit's rules keep changing. If a run fails you are not charged, and the status page says what is working.
Other .rss addresses
A watch can run these too, each at its own price. For keyword alerts, see tracking brand mentions on Reddit.
| The feed | The call | Credits a run |
|---|---|---|
/search.rss?q=… | Search | 2 |
/user/…/.rss | User Posts | 2 |
/comments/…/.rss | Comments | 2 |
FAQ
Does Reddit RSS still work?
Until 2026-11-13, by Reddit's own date. Set up what replaces it before then, so your reader has no gap.
Does Reddit offer a replacement?
For moderators' alerts, yes: Devvit apps such as Discord Relay. For feeds outside a community you moderate, Reddit's post says there is no replacement.
Can I paste the new address into my feed reader?
Yes, into any reader that takes an RSS 2.0 address. There is also a JSON Feed address. Reading it needs no key and costs nothing.
How often does it update?
Daily or weekly, at the time you choose. It is not real time.
Do I need a Reddit account or API key?
No. It uses no account of yours, so it cannot affect your account. You need a free SocialToAI account.
What does it cost to follow one subreddit?
2 credits a run: 62 credits a month if daily, about $0.21. The sign-up credits cover about 50 days.
Can I use this commercially?
Commercial use of Reddit content stays subject to Reddit's own terms, whichever way you read it.
